There are many different buildings and construction of the Mayan architecture that you can admire when you visit Mexico

The ceremonial platforms were typically made from limestone, less than 4 meters tall. The purpose of these platforms, as one can imagine from the term ‘ceremonial,’ was the performing of rituals, religious rites and public ceremonies. They are decorated with carved figures, statues, altars and perhaps ‘’Tzompantli”, a skull rack, wooden rack whose purpose was to display the skulls of the victims, war victims or any other sacrificial ritual, maybe even the losers of the ballgame the Mesoamericans used to play.

Speaking of the ballgame, you can also visit the ball courts where the Mayas used to play ballgame, a ritual sport. The ‘stadium’ was enclosed on two sides by stepped ramps that usually led to a ceremonial platform or even a temple

The temples were stationed on the top of the pyramids, probably as the closest place to the sky and heavens. El Mirador is one of the greatest complexes and great as an example of this architecture. The temples were topped with a roof comb and sometimes the roof comb was carved in representations of rulers, so they can be seen from far away, since the temples were built to exceed the height of the jungle.

The observatories were designed for observing the astronomical events and phases, especially of the Moon and Venus and other celestial objects.

The palaces were huge and much decorated. They housed the elite as every palace is meant to, and they were located commonly in the centre of the city or close to it.

When you are in Mexico, you can not miss all these architectural marvels. If in need of a car, the car hire companies are Alamo, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Thrifty and Dollar

The Aztec people were ethnic groups consisting of tribes, that shared a common language called Nahuati. These groups inhabited in the central part of today’s Mexico. They also dominated big parts of Mesoamerica between the 14th and the 16th centuries.

Unfortunately this great civilization was destroyed soon after the Spanish conquistadors arrived and the colonization began. The Triple Alliance between the city-states of Texcoco, Tlacopan and Tenochtitlan that was formed under the native leader Moctezuma or Montezuma got eventually defeated by the superiority of the Spanish firearms and technology.

The culture and the legacy the Aztec left is of huge importance. Huge leaps in humanity’s development were made in agriculture, with the basis of maize cultivation 121 car hire portugal. Also the basic social structure that divides society into castes of nobility and the commoners was evolved, along with the religious belief system and practice including most of the pantheon.

The calendric system was an enormous contribution to mankind. The calendar consisted of a 365 day cycle called ‘xiuhpohuallu’ (year count) and a 260day ritual cycle called ‘tonalpohualli ‘(day count). The two cycles combined together formed an era the Aztecs considered as a unit of a ‘52 –year century’ let’s say. The 365 day calendar is believed by scientists to be the agricultural one, since it is based on the frequency and function of the sun, the solstice. The 260 day calendar is considered as a, maybe random maybe not, sacred calendar.

A hard to conceive trivia for some of the Aztec temples you might visit while in Mexico is that of the human sacrifice. For a certain temple, that was discovered and excavated during the 20th century, named ‘the Great Pyramid of Tenochtitlan’ in 1487 the Aztecs themselves and Ahuitzotl-the Great Speaker recorded that they have sacrificed 84,400 prisoners in a 4 days ritual for the reconsecration of the temple.

The car rentals if you ever visit Mexico to admire the glorious temples of the Aztecs, are Alamo, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Thrifty and Dollar.

The Mexican drug war is an armed conflict that takes place between the armed forces of the Mexican drug cartels and the government of Mexico.

The Mexican drug trafficking organizations have existed in the country for decades. They became considerably more powerful and noticeable in the late 1990s with the collapse of the Colombian drug cartels of Medellin and Cali. Currently, the Mexican drug traffickers control the illicit drug traffic on the territory of the US.

Mexico in its self is a relatively small producer of heroine and cannabis. But Mexican traffickers control the majority of the flow of heroine, cocaine, cannabis and methamphetamine in their northern neighbor. According to some data only the cocaine produced in Colombia and shipped to the US by Mexicans amounts from 13 to 50 billion American dollars.

The first series of open violence started with the key arrests of high position drug leaders of the Tijuana and Gulf cartels. This started from the year 2000. Under the government of the Mexican president Vincente Fox a small contingent o army troops were sent to the US-Mexican border to fight the cartels. They had very limited success. The next period of 5 years was marked by the violence between the Gulf and Sinaloa cartel as well as the establishment of the Michoacan cartel.

In the end of 2006 the government policy towards cartel violence tolerance changed dramatically. The newly elected president Felipe Calderon sent a military force of more than 6,500 troops to the troubled area of Michoacan to stop the fighting. This started the official war between the army and the drug traffickers. The local, state and federal police were further reinforced to a number of 45,000 people.

So far the anti-trafficking war has been obscured by allegations of corruption and bribery among the police and Special Forces which were supposed to fight the dealers in the border region. Major cartel battles have taken place in Tijuana and Morelia.Exotic Car Rental Miami seo agency

This has prompted even more troops to be sent to the troubled regions. On the other side of the border the American National Guard has also reinforced it position aimed at not allowing the drug related violence to spill over the border.

Car hire companies in Mexico are Alamo, Hertz, Avis, Europcar, Thrifty and Dollar.

Teotihuacan is an enormous archaeological site in the basin of Mexico which was believed to have been established around 200 BCE and had its fall between 7th and 8th centuries. As one of the most visited archaeological sites in Mexico, the city constitutes of some of the largest pyramidal structures that were built in the pre-Columbian Americas. It is located in what is now the San Juan Teotihuacan municipality and is chosen as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In spite of being considered once as one of the main cities of the world, but still many things are not known even today like how did the people lived here and why did they leave the city? The archaeologists currently in their findings are able to acquire more information about the people and culture of the city and also finding out the answers for some of such questions that have been buried in the Pyramid of the Moon, for years.

Till now, many experts were in a thought that the city of Teotihuacan was a peaceful society and was governed by the wise and gentle leaders but they are discovering something else in their latest findings in the Pyramid of the Moon.

Archaeologists have found out several headless bodies that were of outsiders and most of them were buried alive with their hands tied along with the animals, weapons and other objects of power, of all that seemed to be the offerings to the gods.

Though the archaeologists are finding it difficult to interpret their findings in the pyramid but they have concluded that the city was not ruled by the peaceful rulers and the authorities have used human sacrifice for controlling the people.

The scientists have no idea as who the city’s leaders were and they have also not found a king buried in the pyramid or any effigies of the rulers. But they are still going on with their search and are hoping to find out more information about the city and also the creators of the pyramid.

Thrifty, Europcar, Alamo, Hertz and Dollar are some of the car rental agencies operating their services in Mexico.
